MANILA, Philippines – Christopher Lao, whose claim to fame came after he was caught on the news trying to drive his car through a flooded street and ranting about how he wasn’t properly informed about how deep the water was, is back.
And this time, not only has Lao been properly informed, but his video has properly informed consumers as well about a one-year insurance plan on “acts of nature” offered by the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Family Auto Loans, with Lao himself as its model.
In the BPI Family ad, it is the flood that swamps Lao’s parked car, along with those of the neighbors.
“Nature doesn’t inform you”, the BPI Family ad says.
But BPI Family does and the offer’s good from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15, 2011.
