MANILA, Philippines—What’s your favorite beer story?

We have all shared stories about work, love life, family problems, among others with our friends over beer. And more often than not, “two bottles” is never just two bottles as the stories–accompanied by either laughter or tears–go on until the drinks run out.

Reminiscing these beer conversations is what lifestyle brand Team Manila aims to achieve with its new collection of shirts and other merchandise in collaboration with San Miguel.

Team Manila last week released a limited line of shirts, lanyards, pouches and tote bags featuring the elements present in the classic San Miguel Pale Pilsen bottle but with a Team Manila twist.

“San Miguel Pale Pilsen + ___________ = Best Beer Story” and “The best ang inuman kapag may __________ at San Miguel Pale Pilsen,” were among the statements emblazoned on the shirts.

“We want our products to the customer. We want someone wearing Team Manila to think or answer what’s written in our shirt. We tried it with this line, so you have to answer,” Team Manila creative director Jowee Alviar told INQUIRER.net.

Team Manila launched the collection last Thursday at the Suez & Zapote Gallery in Makati with pica-pica often paired with beer like isaw and fishballs and overflowing San Miguel Pale Pilsen.

The collection, which was done in hues of black, white and gold, was created in celebration of San Miguel’s 125 years in the beer-making business.

“The San Miguel Pale Pilsen bottle is very iconic, so we took inspiration from that. We reworked the design of their label as well,” Alviar added.

With only five designs of T-Shirts and just a hundred pieces per design released, the Team Manila x San Miguel collaboration is bound to sell quick, but Alviar is hoping that Team Manila and San Miguel will agree to give it another run.

The collection is available only at Team Manila’s four major branches in TriNoma, North Edsa, Rockwell and Mall of Asia.
