Ayurveda talk at Echoyoga

Ayurveda is an alternative system that offers a holistic approach to health and well-being. Ayurveda (a Sanskrit word meaning “the complete knowledge for long life” or “the science of life”) or Ayurvedic medicine is a system of traditional medicine native to India, influential in Southeast Asia, and practiced in other parts of the world as a form of alternative medicine. Ayurveda has been restored for its full practical value and range of application by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, working with eminent Ayurveda physicians.

In partnership with Arogya Ayurveda Center, Echoyoga will be offering four sessions of Introduction to Ayurveda. Taught by Patrick Eyquem of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi vedic sciences lineage, the workshop will tackle the three doshas or body constituencies, diet and influence of food, detoxification, creating a home pharmacy, and general discussion on how food should be prepared. Participants are advised to take all four sessions, as each session builds on the other. The workshop is slated for June 4 and 11, Saturday, at 4 p.m., and on June 16 and 23, Thursday, at 6:30 p.m.

Other June workshops include Yin Yoga on June 2 at 6:30 p.m., Yoga Therapy for Athletes on June 9 at 6:30 p.m., Meditation Circle of Light (open to the public) on June 21 at 6:30 p.m., Past Life Group Regression on June 24 at 4 p.m., and Moving into Meditation on June 30 at 6:30 p.m.
