MANILA, Philippines—Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss is in the country to inaugurate a new ward at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

She led the opening rites for the new PGH pediatric hematology-oncology ward on Wednesday and she was joined by Miss World Chair Julia Morley, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann during the ribbon-cutting.

In a post on her Instagram account, the South African beauty shared how she was warmly welcomed by the Filipina beauty queens.

“What a warm welcome from The Philippine Queens – @meganbata and @vweigmann. You are the sweetest,” she said.

Meanwhile, Young also posted a picture with Strauss on her Instagram account, wishing traveling mercies for her successor.

“Good luck with all your travels my dear @rolenestrauss. I’m so excited to hear more stories about your year! #MissWorld,” Young wrote.

The inauguration of the PGH pediatric ward is part of Strauss’ world tour as the reigning Miss World. Before visiting the country, she went to Indonesia to crown the 2015 Miss World Indonesia Maria Harfanti.

She is set to visit Sri Lanka after her short stay in the country.

Strauss was crowned as the Miss World 2014 pageant last December in London. AJH
