Tomboy chic meets surfer girl

“AT THE end of the day, a white tank top is always a good idea. I got this one on sale from H&M.”

“I’ve always been a fan of comfort dressing,” says model Anna Frumenti, who likes wearing mannish clothes while working as a designer for emerging local fashion brand Beetroot, traveling to various cities and taking photos using film.

Projecting a tomboy-chic-meets-surfer-girl image, Anna points out that Beetroot is “like a response to what we wanted to wear but couldn’t find anywhere. I’m an advocate of nonrestricting bras.”

The pieces indeed feel like second skin; the bras have ample support, but are still light and easy.

The brand is found in pop-up shops and bazaars; that’s incidentally where we chanced upon Anna.

Apart from her regular minimalist outfits, Anna’s wardrobe reveals a good number of stuff borrowed from the boys.

“[But] I got these leather shoes in Giordano Ladies on sale,” she quips.

ANNA dresses up an old cable knit sweater from Forever 21 with embroidered leather boots from Springfield.

As part of her grooming rituals, Anna prefers Lush Sea Salt Shampoo: “It smells good and works well with my hair after the treatments.”

Showing off the contents of her little beauty bag, Anna revels in the crazy colors of Nars lipstick and the Bare Minerals tint.

She says that, during her travels, it always helps to carry sunscreen, specifically Laura Mercier that doubles up as a moisturizer.

As laid-back as she appears, Anna has a beauty aesthetic that is far from plain. Her fashion sense oozes with nonchalance but is nonetheless carefully put together.
