Don’t throw away that scrap of wood just yet. Here’s a great way to put it to use and add a touch of whimsy to your home or as a gift.
A sleek, chrome-finished, modern closet/drawer handle on old wood is a perfect example of marrying the old with the new.
You will need:
- 2 pieces of old wood, one plank bigger than the other as shown in photo
- 1 long drawer handle
- Drill, screws, nails
- Hammer, screwdriver
- Sandpaper, grade 100
- Brush
Procedure:
Prepare the pieces of wood by wiping clean or brush with water and soap. Dry them well.
Sandpaper out all the rough edges until smooth.
Position the planks, the bigger one under the other.
Nail them in place.
Center the handle on the plank. Drill holes and screw handle onto the wood.
