House of flame-grilled beef ribeye marks 22nd year with ‘picnic’

Right in time for summer, dahlings, was the outdoor cooking as Racks opened its new outlet on Timog Avenue, Quezon City, recently. TV personality Lexi Schulze-Berenguer Testa hosted the afternoon affair.

Events stylist Kaye Garcia created a picnic theme, complete with mason jars, baskets, fresh flowers over checkered tablecloths, accents of trellis and wall shrubs and, of course, barbecue grills.

Served were Racks’ delectable staples such as Onion Brick, Classic Caesar Salad with Blackened Chicken Strips, Garlic Scampi Pasta, US Ribeye and, everyone’s to-die-for favorite, Kansas City Style Baby Back Ribs.

The sweet ending was Racks’ top dessert, Mississippi Mud Pie.

“This new Racks store interiors, with textured woods, neutral hues, rustic materials and little pops of color are all inspired by the elegant but warm Southern American country life,” the restaurant chain’s managing director Chukri Prieto said.

He thanked guests and diners “for their continued support of a brand beloved by Filipinos for 22 years.”

Beaming with pride were Chiqui Martinez Prieto and Leopoldo “Jr” Prieto.

Levi’s 501 reinvented

Can you imagine, palangga, that the classic blue jeans featuring its timeless straight leg, relaxed fit and signature button fly has been reinvented? The Levi’s 501 Customized and Tapered (CT) jeans was launched recently at the Valkyrie in The Palace, Bonifacio Global City.

A parade of models showed the three different ways of wearing the Levi’s 501 CT—Down-size, True-to-size and Up-size.

Hosted by Sam YG, the event was also fired up by Grammy-nominated singer and composer Heather Bright, aka “Bright Lights.”

VIP guests, including Fabio Ide, Karen Bordador, Gaby dela Merced, JM Rodriguez and Cat Arambulo-Antonio, tried on the Levi’s 501 CT for size.

“First designed in 1944, the Levi’s 501 original jeans has stood the test of time,” said Levi’s country manager Charisse Chua. “Revamping the most classic pair of jeans, you can now fashion your own personalized look with the new Levi’s 501 CT.”

She added: “Wear it down-sized for a slimmer style, true-to-size for a classic look, and up-sized for a roomier and more relaxed fit.”
