MANILA, Philippines—National Arts Month formally closed last Feb. 28 at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium.
University of the Philippines Kontra Gapi performed ethnic dances. Sinag Lahi Dance of the Unibersidad de Manila and Nuno Dance Troupe of Angono performed colorful folk dances.
J-crisis did hip-hop dance routines. Halili-Cruz Dance Company performanced classical ballet and contemporary dances.
Liza Diño, with Aiza Seguerra on the guitar, danced flamenco to the tune of “Makita Kang Muli.” Musical theater actress Joanna Ampil sang “Memories,” from the internationally acclaimed West End musical, “Cats.”
Sining Banwa from Ligao National High School, Ligao, Albay rendered a dramatic performance of the Bikolnon epic, Ibalon. Artistic Inc. showed excerpts from Sining Tsinelasan sa Liliw which centered on the life of Apolinario Mabini.
Sinukwan Kapampangan did a thanksgiving performance to formally close NAM.
Also performing was the Art Circle, a student organization from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
