Magic carpet rides have taken on a completely different meaning as design sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy collaborate with The Rug Company for a capsule collection.
Made with hand-knotted Tibetan wool and silk by generations of weavers in Kathmandu, the rugs evoke both ethereal and whimsical motifs. Inspired by fairytale fantasies and emerald foliage, the carpets instantly add a hint of couture to a space.
The pair’s Ivy Trellis piece that originated from their spring 2013 collection is rendered in masterful weaves using shades of lilac, cobalt and emerald.
