After serving as the resident theater company of the historic Rizal Park for a decade, Gantimpala Theater kicks off its 38th season in its new home, the AFP Theater, with its annual summer workshops.
Beginning April 6 to May 2, musical theater courses are open for kids, teens and advanced/professional. In these workshops, participants will learn about acting, singing, dancing, techniques and professional practices needed by an actor and actress for a musical theater production.
Singer and comedienne Kakai Bautista, actors Marcus Madrigal and Ketchup Eusebio, chef and actress China Cojuangco, TV news personality Valerie Tan, actor Migui Moreno, and heartthrobs and Kapamilya talents Jose Sarasola and Ivan Dorschner are some of the well-known entertainment personalites who have gone through the Gantimpala workshops.
Award-winning actor-director Roeder Camañag; director, librettist and costume/set designer Jose Jeffrey Camañag; and director and playwright Gean All de Leon will be the facilitators.
Tuition fee is P6,000. Enrollment is ongoing.
A two-week stage management workshop is also being offered, with Ed Murillo, the Philippines’ foremost stage manager, as instructor.
