Japanese convenience store chain FamilyMart recently opened its 100th Philippine branch at Market! Market! at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

 

This is part of its expansion plans that include strategies for new stores, franchising opportunities, and promotions and partnerships.

 

This year the target is to open 60 to 70 more stores.

 

FamilyMart in the Philippines is a joint venture of the SSI Group and Ayala Land, with Japan FamilyMart Co. Ltd. and Itochu

As of February 2014, FamilyMart is the world’s second largest convenience store chain with a total of 23,622 branches spread over China, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, the US, Vietnam and the Philippines.

 

Since opening its first Philippine store at Glorietta 3 in Makati in 2013, FamilyMart has established its niche for quality products, customer service, and overall experience. It is also known for its Japanese food items and ready-to-eat meals.

“We continue to innovate so that there is always something new for our customers to look forward to whenever they enter the store,” said FamilyMart Philippines general manager Eduardo Paredes Jr. “We always try to imbibe the spirit of family and fun.”

 

This sense of family and fun was evident at the launch of the 100th store. Special promotions and activities were provided by partner brands Selecta Magnum, Del Monte, San Marino Tuna, Highlands Corned Beef, Goldilocks, Zesto, Johnnie Walker and Philip Morris.

 

In addition, all FamilyMart branches nationwide launched its combo meals with discounts on Purefoods TJ hotdog sandwiches, Twirl All You Can soft-serve ice-cream, and Coca Cola and Pepsi soft drinks.
