Rejuvenation and regeneration–new fave additions to my vocabulary

The heat is on, and it’s pretty hard to ignore the crazy high temperatures outside!

Manila may be hot, but Bangkok was scorching. That’s what my Assumption high school batchmates and I found out when we went on our annual shopping trip last week.

In between shopping sprees, I was able to visit Brio Clinic, the same company that owns Villa Medica International. Brio Bangkok has several customized packages covering detoxification, revitalization and optimization.

Alternative treatments

At the luxuriously designed, spacious clinic, the family of Bobby Kittichaiwong, CEO of Villa Medica, warmly welcomed us into their center. His sister Khun Leena Taechamongkalapiwat toured my dear friend Vina Francisco and I through the different treatment rooms and the specialized rooms for alternative cancer treatments using the hyperthermia process.

Bobby’s gorgeous wife Khun Betty Kittichaiwong was delighted that we found time to visit the clinic and meet the Filipino expert staff, Cherrie Bacos, customer relations manager; and Dr. Marie Carmelli Nuza. Also present was the elegant-looking mother of Bobby, Khun Vimonrat Kittichaiwong.

To recharge for another shopping day, Vina and I tried an infusion therapy of vitamin C and other antioxidants to revitalize and give us that inner glow. It was a timely treatment since it has been a month since my visit to Villa Medica International in Germany.

After the Brio visit, we joined Assumptionistas Popsie Gamboa and Monica Benares for dinner to celebrate Monica’s 51st birthday at Issaya Siamese Club. We had a deliciously spicy dinner, with conversation ranging around 50-something topics such as premenopausal conditions.

At age 51, I’m starting to discover what hot flushes and night sweats are about. These have somehow been diminished thanks to my recent cell treatments at Villa Medica. For information on Villa Medica, visit www.villa-medica.com or call tel. 0917-8982341.

Words like rejuvenation and regeneration are now part of my wellness vocabulary. I have taken the high road to living better and doubled my efforts to keep healthy. I strongly believe in the foundation of preventive and regenerative medicine. Taking an integrated, holistic approach to my wellbeing has been my choice, maybe because of the lifestyle I lead.

Cell therapy is an advanced health therapy that can revitalize one’s body cells, regenerate the body’s ability to heal, and facilitate and maintain optimal health. As we age, our rate of cell renewal falters and we begin to age.

Personalized care

My Villa Medica experience began even before I left for Germany, and it has not ended. Combining the best of luxury and medical expertise, treatment in this facility is personalized care based on the person’s individual and unique health needs.

Based on my individual diagnostic profile, the Villa Medica doctors consulted with me and customized therapies to my needs. All this was under the direct supervision of their well-experienced and specialized medical team and physicians, who have more than 50 years of research and practical experience in the application of cell therapy.

With a focus on preventing diseases and promoting health and wellbeing, measures are aimed at preventing diseases rather than curing or treating the symptoms. The preinjection medical screening and tests should be done approximately a month before departure. These screen out those who are not suitable to receive the cell treatment. Under the medical guidance of Dr. Geoffrey Huertgen, the highest standards of medical care are offered at Villa Medica.

I remember Doctor Huertgen explaining the science of cell therapy to me, but he might as well have been talking in German. It was all, pun intended, so clinical.

I do recall the basic idea—that stem cells from a donor animal link up with corresponding cells in our body’s tissues and organs. This enables donor stem cells from a liver to help heal the cells in our liver, embryonic heart cells to fix our heart’s cells, etc.

As I might say to a saleslady once we’ve agreed on a price, “That’s good enough, Doctor H.” And so it was that the stem cells were injected into my little behind. I got the standard nine injections. The great thing is that Villa Medica offers a follow-up system after the cell therapy treatment.

Constant stream

Villa Medica has a constant stream of patients, many from our country. We met Tessie Kho and her autistic 31-year-old son Reginald. After four years of regular visits, Tessie feels there has been a remarkable improvement in Regi. Tessie knows it’s not a cure but just gives them a better quality of life.

Balance of life is the key, and nutrition helps tremendously. The natural injections include brain cells for memory, stomach cells for better digestion, ovarian cells for hormone balance, connective tissues for the skin, liver cells for the immune system and more.

As they say at Villa Medica, the active-cell-extracts therapy is “a holistic approach providing a regenerative solution for both youthful maintenance, and the prevention of premature aging and chronic conditions.”

Of course, the big question is, “Does it work?”

I personally feel it does. I now sleep better and have become even more energetic. Fellow travellers Philippine Tatler editor Anton San Diego and Philippine Star’s Mons Romulo are feeling wonderful, too. And on that note, my memory has improved enough to remember to wish Mons a happy birthday!
