Pushing boundaries

IT IS NEVER easy to hold a fashion show, especially for stu- dents giving it their first shot.

The 77 graduating students of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s Fashion Design and Merchandising course had to create not only a five-piece collection (but showcasing only three pieces on the big night); hey also had to mount the show themselves, with the help of three faculty members and without the aid of any professional companies.

This year’s show was called “Unbound,” with the student designers divided into three groups. The event was held in the school’s Museum of Con- temporary Art and Design (MCAD Manila).

Here are some of the notable designs, as described by the student de- signers themselves.
