Time really flies when you’re having customized flip-flop fun. “Make Your Own Havaianas” (MYOH), the event which lets you create a pair by mixing soles, straps, and pins, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

If last year’s event paid tribute to the brand’s Brazilian roots, 2015’s MYOH gives a nod to its brand name Havaianas, which is Portuguese for “Hawaiian.”

“Many of you have been with us since day one. Tonight we say ‘Mahalo’ and cheers to everybody,” says Havaianas Philippines managing director Anne Arcenas-Gonzalez. She also credits Havaianas fans for the overwhelming family spirit the brand has experienced through its years of staging the event.

This year’s commemorative sole features a snapshot of a Hawaiian beach, complete with hibiscus, palm trees, sky and sea. The 27 pins available are divided into six categories: Vintage Luau, pins that symbolize the Hawaiian lifestyle; Summer Social, which includes most-recognized icons on social media; Hawaiian Adventure, pins that characterize a laid-

back beach vibe; Hawaiian Take-Out, foodie pins (we love the smiling Spam Musubi pin); Under The Sea, which depict aquatic life; and Crystals to add sparkle to any pair.

Visit the Make Your Own Havaianas stations from May 7 to 10 at the Glorietta Activity Center (Palm Drive), All Flip Flops Trinoma, Bonifacio High Street, Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM Manila, SM Bacoor, SM City Tarlac, SM Pampanga, SM City Lipa, SM City Bacolod, SM City Iloilo, SM City Cagayan De Oro, Abreeza Mall and Robinsons Place Ilocos Norte Activity Center and from May 7 to 17 at SM City Cebu Northwing Atrium.
