It’s no secret anymore that actor John Lloyd Cruz is an avid art collector but seeing him paint is something worth sharing on social media.
In the exciting world of visual artist-punk musician Romeo Lee, having Cruz as “new assistant” is just another ordinary day. In his latest Facebook photo album titled “My New Assistant,” Cruz is shown painting with Lee and seems to be at home in his new-found passion.
For years, Cruz has been associated with Lee, joining art exhibits, be they in a hard-to-find hole-in-the-wall gallery or in bigger gatherings of artists. It came to a point when Lee and Cruz seem inseparable in the art scene. Where there’s Lee, there’s Cruz.
In fact in the last two annual Art Fair Philippines exhibits, Cruz has been a regular. But nobody in Lee’s circle seems to mind, many of whom are oblivious to celebrities, especially from show business. They couldn’t tell Coco Martin from Coco Alcuaz even if their lives depend on it.
In this biosphere, Cruz the matinee idol is at home.
Now in Lee’s recent exhibit “Lee-ving or Non-Leeving” to be held from May 26 to June 7 at the Crucible Gallery at the 4th floor of SM Megamall, Cruz did give Lee a helping hand, literally.
