Cerda at Anna
Toti Cerda’s“Bocetos” is on view at Galerie Anna.
“Bocetos” is Spanish for “sketches.” Cerda recreates what he imagines would have been the sketches that gave birth to masterpieces, both Philippine and Western. These are homages to the art of draftsmanship against which the artist measures his own technical skill and capacity.

Escueta at Artistspace
After nearly a decade since her last solo show, Eileen Escueta mounts her latest collection of watercolor paintings. “Waterdance” is on view until June 7 at ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum, Makati City.
The 30 new works consist of landscape, still life, florals, portraits and her signature subject, the koi.
Film collection at 1335
“Looking at the Big Sky,” an exhibit of 14 films, is running at 1335 Gallery until July 3. The collection ranges from fictional narratives and stagings to individual assertions and performances, from found- footage montages to pseudo- documentaries.

Africa at Silverlens
“Reverse Boomerangs and Other Exercises for Pleasure (Warm Up/Cool Down),” is an exhibition in two parts by Catalina Africa ongoing until June 6 at Silverlens Gallery.
Employing a variety of media, from painting to video, collage and other combined material and objects, Africa reexamines and reforms the practice of painting into an enlightened ritual of self- discovery and sense awareness.
In this exhibit at Silverlens, Africa returns to the sensuous gestures of painting .
Tam Austria opens exhibit
Foremost visual artist TamAustria was guest speaker during the opening of the exhibit “Land & Seascapes” at the Art Center of SM Megamall. Participating artists are Al Perez, Caloy Gabuco, Ernesto Mea, Oying Madrelejos, Robby Nobla and Roy Espinosa.
