Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, one of the world’s top 10 indoor gardens, recently opened Flowery Fun Times, a special display inspired by the world’s beloved nursery rhymes.
Planning a visit to the Lion City soon? Here are five reasons you and your kids should drop by:
1. It’s a great chance to introduce or reintroduce them to classic nursery rhymes. And if you loved nursery rhymes when you were growing up, you’ll get a kick out of the exhibit, too. Mother Goose, The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, Mary and her Little Lamb, Old MacDonald’s Farm, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Humpty Dumpty—you will find them all on display in the Flower Dome, amid a sea of gorgeous flowers.
2. You can use the moment to teach your kids about diversity and different cultures. Chinese, Malay and Indian nursery rhymes also inspired some of the displays.
3. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. It doesn’t matter if you’re not really into flowers, they will stop you in your tracks and make you gape. They’re so beautiful that your pictures will look like paintings. Nature’s artwork.
4. They have a cool Lego display, too. Our favorite part of the Lego garden? The enormous Venus Flytraps.
5. Beat the heat. Gardens by the Bay’s cooled conservatories offer wonderful relief from the Singapore heat. Take the time to explore the rest of this massive and meticulously designed place—Cloud Forest, which has indoor waterfalls, rare plants and scenic walkways, is a fun stop, too.
Flowery Fun Times Garden Trail will be open until July 19, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Gardens by the Bay is at 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore. Visit www.gardensbythebay.com.sg for more information.
