Fashion designer and singer-songwriter Kate Torralba continues her #LongOverdueWorldTour this month, taking her quirky brand of contemporary Filipino music to The Viper Room in Los Angeles on June 14.

It will be Torralba’s first show in the US, performing with the American incarnation of her cheekily named Kate Torralband. She has previously performed solo in legendary LA venues The Troubadour and The Key Club.

She will also play an intimate dinner show in San Francisco on June 23 at Hana Zen on Pier 39.

Recently she performed a sold-out show at Blu Jaz Café, one of the famed music nightspots in Singapore. Her Kate Torralband that evening included drummer Wendell Garcia, bassist Rommel de la Cruz and guitarist Sach Castillo. They were joined by Malek Lopez, producer of Torralba’s “Long Overdue” album, whose debut single, “Pictures,” received a nomination for the Awit Awards’ Best Recording of a New Female Artist last year.

After Singapore and the US, she returns to Europe where she is currently based to do more shows. On July 2 she plays at Nambucca in London, where the likes of Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling have performed, and on July 7 she returns to Café Laurent at the historic Hotel d’Aubusson in St. Germain, Paris, to do an encore performance of her first sold-out solo show last April.

Torralba recently returned to Manila to perform at the Wanderland Music Festival, as well as some intimate shows at 19 East and Route 196. She also performed a special livestream show on Spinnr.ph, dubbed #KateTorralbaByRequest. The set is available as an exclusive digital album on the site.
