January of this year, Stradmore Notes invited fashion blogger Laureen Uy to work on a planner that will encourage students to persevere and shine in school. Laureen immediately said yes.

“I do a lot of talks, and not only do I inspire students, they also inspire me—so I wanted to do something more than just talks. It was a perfect idea to collaborate with Stradmore Notes,” said Laureen.

She has put her heart and soul into this project. She was very hands-on in creating the student planner; her personality shows in her work.

Inside the planner, Laureen shares her own experiences as a student—from being bullied in grade school to juggling basketball practice to internship and to running an online shop.

“Alam ko kasi yung student life—it’s not that easy and I dealt with it, so I wanted to share my experiences and opinions on how you can encourage students to become better,” she said.

The planner covers a specific topic for each month: thinking positive, discovering potentials, a fresh start, among others.

What makes this planner different is that it also has cheat sheets like divisibility rules, a conversion table, grammar notes, and even LRT, MRT and PNR routes for commuters.

As an added treat, it also has fun dress-up stickers.

It doesn’t matter if students can’t keep their hands off their mobile phones and tablets; Laureen is still encouraging them to use a planner because it’s something valuable and sentimental. It’s as different as receiving a text message or a postcard.

The #BeTheBestYou student planner is available at all Powerbooks and National Book Store branches.
