The Guinness World Records on Friday officially confirmed that the Philippines set two new world records for the biggest human smiley and most number of people wearing costume masks.

In its official website, Guinness said Alliance In Motion (AIM) Global Inc. recorded the biggest human smiley with 8,018 participants in its May 30 event at Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

“That’s one super-sized emoji. Happy Friday! 8,018 people recently gathered together to set a new record for the largest human smiley in Manila,” Guinness said on its Instragram account.

AIM Global also gathered the most number of people wearing costume masks at Philippine Arena’s Ciudad de Victoria in Santa Maria, Bulacan, setting the world record with 30,050 participants.

With the theme of “happiness,” both events were organized by AIM Global as part of its ninth anniversary. Yuji Vincent Gonzales/RC
