Marichelle T. Ligon and Ernie W. Infante’s wedding in Hong Kong was recently celebrated with a Thanksgiving Mass in Montecito Estates, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The couple’s families, closest friends and guests from abroad, together with some of the country’s leading wedding and events providers, attended the mass held just an hour before dusk, in a romantic garden setting facing Laguna de Bay.
After the mass, guests walked over to have tapas and aperitifs prepared by La Tasca in the sprawling lawn. Against a magical backdrop of old shade trees and dusk creeping in, guests lingered over wine, champagne, cheese and happy banter while admiring the chic and elegant outdoor arrangements of the celebration.
Dinner followed in Montecito’s Pasatiempo, where more delightful surprises thrilled guests to no end. A dessert buffet by Heny Sison and tastefully put together table settings and floral arrangements by Zenas Pineda complemented the guests’ wedding tokens and favors, which the bride personally chose and prepared for each guest.
The celebration marks a second union for both Marichelle and Ernie. Neighborhood friends in their young, adolescent years, they met again many years after life and its dips and turns happened.
Embracing the extended families that accompany second marriages, it was deeply heartwarming to see Marichelle’s accomplished daughter Mireille Pio de Roda and Ernie’s young sons Andreas, Alex and Jude share in the spotlight of their parents’ special day.
Love helped Marichelle and Ernie get to this place. But so did hard work, patience and respect. Separations, annulments and divorce are no one’s first choice. But they happen, for a variety of reasons. Those of us unfortunate enough to have gone through it are just happy to have found love again. A toast to love, courage and second chances is only fitting.
