Pottery Barn’s recent chichi event held in Capitol Commons, Pasig City, had everyone wishing that their home interiors looked as beautiful and cozy as the samples shown in the store.

Pottery Barn is a US-based home furnishing chain with retail stores in Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia and the Philippines apart from the United States. It’s owned by retail company Williams-Sonoma which bought it from Gap in September 1986.

Brought to the Philippines by Stores Specialists Inc., Pottery Barn also includes specialty stores such as Pottery Barn Baby, Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen.

This is what makes the store unique: PBteen is the first home retailer to focus on the 13-to-19-year-old market. Launched in 2003, it allows young adults to exercise creativity by designing their own bedrooms.

Merchandising manager Gina Bonoan says that PBteen wants to “capture the customer—the child.”

Pottery Barn’s goal is to connect with its customer, to establish a “lifelong commitment.” As kids grow, Pottery Barn grows with them, offering stylish, age-appropriate home furnishings from PBteen to its main store.

Such a sweet, long-term goal has customers hooked, and teenagers everywhere are falling in love with the earthy, all-American designs that PBteen has to offer.

Filipino young adults will feel even more at home now that they have the ability to express themselves freely in their own space.
