Ver Cruz, an alumnus of the University of the East where he obtained his master’s in Business Administration, bachelor of Business Administration and was a recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award as an International Alumni Achiever, is vying for the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant of the Year Award for 2015.
This Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Contest is a nationwide competition sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada and The Canadian Magazine, among others. There were originally some 700 immigrant nominees of various cultures, and Cruz was selected as one of the 75 finalists.
He is the only Filipino candidate chosen from the City of Toronto and from the whole Province of Ontario, and the only male Filipino candidate across the whole of Canada.
Cruz is the founder and president of Vercore International Services, Inc. He has been teaching in Toronto, Canada, for the past 25 years. He has received recognition from government institutions, business and community organizations.
His exemplary pedagogic performance in teaching international immigrant students greatly paved the way for the graduates in the employment arena.
