BanKO expands with ECPay

BPI Globe BanKO, the Philippines’ first and only mobile microsavings bank, has made it even more convenient for its depositors to save by tying up with ECPay, the leading electronic payment systems provider in the country.

Starting June 5, all ECPay merchant partners will be accepting cash-in transactions to all BanKO accounts.  Even non-account holders will be able to cash in to a BanKO account at any ECPay merchant.

As with all cash-in transactions at any BanKO partner outlet, cash-in is free.  The account holder, or the person who will cash in to a BanKO account, needs only to give the Globe or TM number of the registered BanKO account and the cash-in amount to the cashier for processing. Once processed, the BanKO account holder receives a real-time text confirmation that the amount has been credited.  The minimum cash-in amount at ECPay’s merchants is P500.

ECPay has over 4,500 outlets in its network of merchant partners, including 7-Eleven, Metro Gaisano, NCCC Supermarkets and selected Petron stations.  Their multiplatform payment infrastructure offers accurate, secure and timely payment services to their customers.

ECPay general manager Ma. Patricia Pascual says: “We believe in BanKO’s mission of teaching the unbanked the value of savings, and providing them with additional outlets for cash-in is our way of helping out. Business-wise, the growing number of BanKO account holders would also benefit ECPay and our partner merchants.”

BanKO president and CEO John Rubio says: “Our goal is to bring banking closer to those who have limited access to financial services, in the easiest and most reliable ways possible. BanKO’s partnership with ECPay helps us expand our customer touch points, allowing us to serve more customers and giving Filipinos more opportunities to save.”
