Mental health has been a topic of discussion for many months now; from the lack of awareness and importance, to the drastic effects it can have on an individual.
Because of this, there have been many events, programs, movements, and advocacies that have been formed to raise awareness for mental health issues.
On August 26, a half-day event (12PM to 12AM) called Luna: Light In Darkness will be held in PARC Foundation, San Juan. The event will hold many creative workshops, art markets, and an open mic night. These activities are aimed at promoting the importance of proper mental health care, and how art can serve as a coping mechanism towards mental wellness.
Creative workshops include how to get started on a bullet journal, watercolor and calligraphy classes, and hip-hop dance workshops. The night then ends with an open mic where aspiring writers and performers can showcase their bleeding hearts and broken souls.
If you need another reason to go, all profits from attendance will be donated to the Philippine Mental Health Association; a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of mental heath and prevention of mental disorders.
You can take part in this event by signing up as an art seller, workshop participant, open mic performer, or just an eager attendee. Find out more details on how to sign up on their Facebook page:
