Stock up on duty-free essentials

Duty-free shopping just got updated at the newly renovated departure and arrival area stores of Duty Free Philippines (DFP) at Naia Terminal 1 in Pasay City.

The Naia Terminal 3 Duty Free outlets also underwent major renovations to cater to an increase in passenger traffic after the relocation of several major airlines.

The outlets were redesigned to achieve a more attractive, dynamic and functional retail environment to cater to shoppers made up of international travelers, tourists and balikbayans.

Top fashion, perfumery and cosmetics brands such as Calvin Klein, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Bulgari, Christian Dior, Clinique, Clarins, L’Occitane, La Prairie, SK-II and Lacoste are expected to attract both new and loyal customers with the new look.

DFP tapped the world-renowned design team Sounda Design Inc. led by architect Frédéric Chevassus and designer Philippe Larosse. The perfumes, cosmetics and fashion areas’ elegant and more functional design adopted an “aerodynamic” concept using aircraft details, such as a plane’s wings and propellers as inspirations.

“The stores now have a modern and more functional look to entice customers to patronize the many international brands that are on offer,” says Lorenzo Formoso, chief operating officer of DFP. “Now, more Filipino families of balikbayans and overseas Filipino workers will enjoy shopping for gifts for their loved ones.”

The new layout aims to project the airport outlet as inviting from all sides of the store perimeter, drawing the target customer into the interior.

The stores’ Travelite program where shoppers can buy items before departure, deposit them at the store and redeem them upon their return to Manila is ongoing.

Shoppers can avail of DFP’s Travelite program by applying through the website dfp.com.ph or personally at the stores at Naia Terminal 1, 2 and 3.
