MANILA, Philippines – If you’re looking for fresh seafood picks, international flavors, and a family-friendly ambience, you’re sure to find it all in one place: Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphouse.

The new restaurant on the block in Newport Mall (2/F), Resorts World Manila, Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphouse offers a wide variety of mixed seafood and specialty dishes. Set to delight big families and food enthusiasts alike, this casual dining restaurant rides on a Hawaiian theme but brings more than just island-inspired dishes to the table.

Bringing to life the story of namesake character Johnny Kahuku, the shrimphouse is the passion project of this Hawaiian hero who’s both a soul surfer and amazing chef. But in reality, Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphouse  is the brainchild of restaurateur Raymund Magdaluyo and celebrity Chef Peter Ayson. Officially part of the Red Crab group of restaurants, Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphouse’ sibling brands include favorites such as Red Crab Alimango House, Clawdaddy’s, Blackbeard’s Seafood Island and Murray’s New Orleans Bourbon Street Steaks and Oysters.

“What’s great aboutJohnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphouse  is that we were able to come up with a menu offering interesting new food choices, while still anchoring on something familiar,” says Chef Peter Ayson. “We’ve got all your favorites—shrimps, crabs, lobsters, meats and more—but we’ve put a global twist to it.”

The menu hosts Hawaiian staples such as the brand’s Shrimp Truck, meals for two or three nicknamed after the shrimp truck culture in the town of Kahuku, Oahu Island. Shrimp Trucks include 6-9 pieces of garlic butter shrimps with a generous serving of Hawaiian rice and sides of macaroni salad and poke. There’s also the commendable selection of poke, which are Hawaiian raw salads of chilled tuna, salmon sashimi and various seafood tossed with seaweed and spices.
