September is a good month not only for fashion shows but also for new beauty products.
Much as I love clothes, it pales in comparison to my obsession with cosmetics. And I believe that products need not be pricey. In fact some of my favorites don’t cost that much.
However, there are some products that I don’t mind investing in because their long-term benefits will actually save me money in the long run.
Skin Caviar Luxe Cream
I’ve been using La Prairie for almost 10 years now, because it really does wonders to my skin.
In 1998, the Swiss brand introduced Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, a product with a lifting and firming formula that contains an expensive delicacy, caviar.
The product was an immediate hit, with consumers snapping up retailers’ stocks.
Since then, Skin Caviar Luxe Cream has been revered as the pinnacle of luxury, efficacy and innovation in skincare; it remains among La Prairie’s best-selling products year after year.
Today, women’s needs for more choices have inspired La Prairie to create Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer.
While the revolutionary Luxe Cream formula is enriched with a nourishing and firming complex that stimulates the production of collagen, Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer adds a lightweight texture that glides effortlessly onto the skin.
Still containing a potent concentration of caviar extract plus cellular complex, Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer lifts and firms up the skin as it recontours and redefines key areas.
The results have been lavishly praised by women. After four weeks of the product’s use, skin elasticity, firmness and tone are felt. After eight weeks, significant lifting in the cheek area and jaw line is
noticed.
The first time I rubbed some of it on my hands, I had a compelling desire to apply it all over my body.
That very night, I started using it. My skin has never looked and felt better since.
Chanel’s blue mascara
I hardly like color on my face, so when doing my eyes, I stick to earth tones.
But when I saw Chanel’s Blue Rhythm Collection, my initial reaction was to bite my tongue, and I’m glad I did. At some point, I ended up playing with the makeup products—and finally deciding to use Le Volume de Chanel 70 Blue Night mascara.
For those who are also not adventurous with color, you must at least give this a try. It gave my virtually non-existent lashes some volume and perfect length.
Also, the blue shade didn’t make me look like I was about to join a pop band, but opened up my eyes without the heaviness that black or brown sometimes brings.
And so, after the press launch at BGC, I headed to Rustan’s Makati to get my first blue mascara.
