THE DICTIONARY defines “showroom” as simply a room where there are goods for sale. For local fashion retailer Bench, however, the mundane-sounding word became interesting enough, even intriguing, when used as title of its Holiday 2015 Collection.
Instead of merely displaying the collections of Bench, HerBench, Bench Body, Human and Kashieca, The Showroom had top models including Monika Sta. Maria and Jasmine Maierhofer, breathing life and soul into the featured clothes.
Inspired by the energy of city life with a hint of laid-back luxury, the collection exudes casual cool. It veers away from the conventional, with unexpected elements like patterns and patchwork, giving the clothes a familiar, basic, yet stylishly bold look that Bench is known for.
Edgy, experimental
Like the men’s wear, HerBench stays fresh and fashion-forward as it captures the energy of the streets with busy prints, statement shirts and the fusion of feminine and masculine sensibilities, lending a tougher, more rebellious vibe to its pieces.
The edgy and experimental tendencies of the college girl come alive as lace skirts are paired off with boyish bomber jackets and lazy sweatshirts are matched with structured slacks.
This collection tells the story of life on the fast lane—daring and decadent.
Offbeat pattern
Bench Body has always specialized in coalescent design in which an offbeat pattern is partnered with traditional fabric. This season, it offers an exciting range of undergarments ranging from decadent lingerie with embossed prints, studs and lace, to more controlled, streamlined and detail-oriented pieces for a contemporary look.
Sports and streetwear
Human focuses on the dynamics of sports and streetwear, the digital tribes and Old World renaissance, but still with a whimsical factor that Human has always been known for.
As the central theme that ties all together, emojis create a zany, unabashedly fun disposition which Human clothes showcase. Special prints, longer lengths, zipper slits and renewed interest in old school American sportswear are introduced this season following a new design direction.
Youthful spirit
Kashieca takes inspiration from the modern woman and retains the brand’s versatility with a wide array of distinctly feminine styles. Each garment is a sartorial staple, but thoughtfully reimagined and carefully reconstructed.
From crisp blouses and cropped tops, to maxi dresses and midi skirts, the Kashieca collection puts the fun in the functional. Piping, pleats and prints elevate basic pieces and reinforce the youthful spirit that defines the brand.
