PINKY Valdes, former dean of Assumption College and now the creative director of Metta Assumption, will hold her first photo exhibit, “The Soul Awakens,” Sept. 16-19, at the LRI Design Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia Street (formerly Reposo).
The exhibit will have a formal opening on Sept. 16, 6 p.m.
The photo exhibit, according to the artist’s notes, “tells the story of how the world transforms once the soul awakens to the Divine within us and the universe around us.”
All proceeds will go to Metta Assumption advocacies, especially in its prison ministries with the Bureau of Corrections’ maximum security prison for women and medium security for men.
Proceeds will also go to Metta Assumption’s “Adopt-a-School” program, which brings public school students to arts and culture presentations at the Assumption. This year’s production will be Shakespeare’s “All’s Well that Ends Well.”
