Andres Co and Derek Ramsay

Every time you see someone with toned arms, chiseled abs and lean legs, you wonder, what could really be the secret to achieving a 100-percent perfect body? Century Tuna, along with its ever ripped endorser Derek Ramsay, recently presented the right combination to reach your ultimate fitness goals, palangga.

Derek’s huge comeback as Century Tuna endorser saw a better, stronger and healthier version of himself. Asked how he’s able to maintain his perfect physique throughout the years, the actor said, “I must admit I thought before that exercise was the only way to get in shape and achieve defined muscles. But then I learned it’s only 30 percent of the process and 70 percent depends on the diet.”

To this, Greg Banzon, another health buff and the general manager of Century Pacific Food Corp., agrees. “The road to fitness is not easy,” he said during the recently held media event at the ballroom of Makati Shangri-La. “But we at Century Tuna guarantee that we are your partners in this life-changing journey. We will motivate you to push harder, do better and aim higher, with the help of our inspiring celebrity endorsers like Derek,” he added.

For those who, like Derek, want a healthier, fitter version of themselves, it is important to find food that is low in fat yet high in protein like Century Tuna Lite, made from 100-percent pure tuna. It also has 50 percent less fat and 50 percent less salt versus other regular flakes in oil.

“I personally like the Hot and Spicy variant and I enjoy it straight from the can!” shared Derek.

Aside from being an excellent source of protein, tuna supplies the body with other important nutrients such as the minerals selenium, magnesium and potassium, vitamin B complex, and the marvelous omega-3 essential fatty acids. Omega 3 DHA is not only good for the heart, but also helps burn body fat, shrink abdominal fat cells and stop certain genes that trigger inflammation on belly fat.

“It was in 1986 when our founder, the visionary genius Ricardo S. Po Sr. decided to introduce the healthy goodness of tuna to the sardine-loving Filipino consumer,” said Century Tuna marketing manager Gela Pecson. “Following this was the launch of Century Tuna. Since then, we have produced quality meals that are not only convenient to eat, but most importantly, delicious and healthy,” she added.

Through its line of deliciously healthy products, as well as its hottest celebrity endorsers like Derek Ramsay, Anne Curtis, Jessy Mendiola, Paulo Avelino and Elmo Magalona, Century Tuna reminds everyone that transformation is never impossible and if these stars can do it, dahlings, then so can you!

From the tuna launch, we headed straight to have a nightcap, and what can be better than the premium rum for today’s successful yuppies, young namedroppables and the young at heart.

Raising a toast to today’s young and success-oriented Filipinos, Tanduay, the world’s No. 1 dark rum, recently launched an all-new premium drink that embodies fun spirit, dedication and enthusiasm, dahlings, the fab Tanduay Select.

Leading the ceremonial toast during its launch were Tanduay’s SVP for sales and marketing Andres Co; SVP for engineering Miguel Khao; AVP for marketing Paul Lim; national marketing manager Garry Ong; Asia Brewery Inc. COO Michael Tan and Derek Ramsay, natch.

“I’m really excited to share this newest drink with more people out there, especially those who aim to achieve higher grounds in life through passion and determination,” Derek said.

They were also joined by master blender Manny Osmeña and society figure Stephanie Zubiri, who both gave talks on the exquisite flavor of Tanduay Select.

“What I love about this rum is its balanced taste. It allows me to experiment with different cocktails that I can share with friends!” Stephanie said.

The bash, dahlings, at the Raven Manila, BGC, switched to high gear as guests enjoyed shots of Tanduay Select’s awesome concoction called Sweet Success and Stephanie’s very own mix, Gold Rush. And what a rush you get. Its awesome.

Tanduay is one of the most awarded companies in the spirits industry with over a hundred international quality awards and seven International High Quality awards. This year, the company was awarded the Crystal Prestige trophy by Monde Selection International Quality Institute, one of the world’s most prestigious and esteemed bodies that recognizes wines and liquor products with the highest standards of taste and quality.

“Being in the industry since 1854, we understand that each generation has its distinct set of preferences, strengths and outlook in life that are remarkable in their own ways,” said Tanduay president and chief executive officer Bong Tan.

Yes, we surely had a cool time with our very own Tanduay concoction or on the rocks. A great way to end our night, palangga.
