While the actor was one of APCC Manila’s headliners, he was also planning to stalk one of the celebrity guests, as well. His target? Jeremy Shada, the voice actor behind Finn the Human on “Adventure Time,” who also has a scheduled autograph/photograph session, as well as performances with his band, Make Out Monday.

“Adventure Time is my nephew’s favorite show and I’ve basically seen every episode of it,” says Colton. “I don’t know if Jeremy Shada can hear me, but somehow I’ll steal him away and have him make a video for my nephew.”
If you’ve been following Colton on Instagram (@coltonlhaynes), you know that the 27-year-old Kansas native dotes on his nieces and nephews (they call him Uncle Coco).

Here are other cool Colton facts you need to know:

One of his best friends is Filipino.

Colton was joined here by one of his best friends, Travis Atreo, who also happens to be Filipino” (he was born here and moved to the States). Travis was at the presscon, taking videos of Colton. Travis is the lead singer of New Heights, and Colton joined them in an acoustic cover of “19 You + Me,” showing off his beautiful voice:

Colton can sing.

During the press con, one of the reporters asked him to sing. He said he would if the reporter sang a duet with him. The two sang “Summer Lovin’” (well, Colton carried the song because the reporter was too starstruck to continue).

Living with Filipino friends messes up Colton’s diet.

As Arsenal on “Arrow,” Colton had to be in (hot) fighting form all the time, and while he’s always been an active athlete and does grueling workouts, he blames his Pinoy buds for messing up his diet.

“I’m not there with the diet yet, especially living with my friends who are Asian and Filipino; he (Travis) cooks rice, like, every day. Every. Day. If I start falling off, it’s Travis’ fault.”

He’s tried a lot of Filipino food on this trip, but he won’t go for balut.

“We had longganisa this morning, we had sinigang. I’m not gonna do balut, there’s no way—we totally had a one hour conversation about it—I don’t think I could do that. We had bistek, that was good. I also ordered a burger—you can take the boy out of Kansas, but you can’t take Kansas out of the boy.”

He can sing, he can dance, he can model, he can act. But Colton says he can’t count. And cook.

“I failed algebra in my senior year of high school. I can’t count. I still don’t know how to do division on paper. There’s a bunch of stuff I can’t do. I can’t cook. No. Oh my gosh. I feel bad for anyone who has to eat anything I try to cook. I just try to put a bunch of sugar on it and it doesn’t work.”

Colton and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) have a comic book tradition.

“Emily and I, we still go to comic book places in whatever city we’re in sometimes, and we buy comics there and say hello to people, so yeah. It’s so cool.”

Colton is a huge Taylor Swift fan.

“Every time we see Taylor Swift, I’m like, ‘Taylor, hey!’ and she’s so nice. A favorite Taylor song? She’s incredible. Taylor Swift for president 2020. I don’t know, every one of her songs is amazing, I think her songwriting is just incredible, I won’t do it justice if I sing it.”
