Makati launches 1st Fashion Week in Glorietta, hosts Kasuotang Pilipino 2015 | Lifestyle.INQ

MANILA, Philippines – This year, the city through its Museum and Cultural Affairs (MCAO) will be holding the 1st Makati Fashion Week that will run from September 29 to October 2 at Glorietta 2 Activity Center, featuring the creations of city-based fashion designers.

JpegAccording to MCAO head Rosalinda Cervantes, said undertaking of the city government is aimed at taking into center stage the creations of Makati-based designers inspired by traditional costumes from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, to be modelled by city officials, senior citizens and friends from the private sector.

For Luzon, a total of 16 individuals will be modelling the traditional costumes namely Councilors Tosca Puno-Ramos, Ichi Yabut, Barangay Captains Fernando Bolo, Martin Arenas, Ernesto Moya, Judith Celos, Evelyn Villamor, Kagawad Ina Rosa, Maria Fe Ugto-Paba, Paul Magpantay, Frederick Sibug, and private individuals Regina Lim-Fernandez, Ramilo Cruzado, Joy Gaviola, Amelia Nazareno, and Malyne Lorayes.

JpegOn the other hand, 16 senior citizens will be modelling the Visayas-inspired creations. They consist of Victoria Tupaz, Yolanda Banaag, Zenaida Lumang, Belinda Ang, Milagros Misa-Gueco, Paz Encontro, Peddy Peereboom, Anita Bay, Pascual Eslava, Danilo Floresca, Santiago Bandejas, Salvador Estorque, Enrique Villamiel, Simplico Ramon Misa, Leopoldo Rosqueta, and Joey Natividad.

While for Mindanao, 15 individuals will be modelling the traditional costumes including Barangay Captains Maribel-frias-Vitales, Jeline Olfato, Michael Infante, Benhur Cruz, Nemesio Alvior, Brgy Kagawad Patricia Infante, Myleen Mendoza, Dr. Amelia Paje, Stella Yamane, Vissia Marie Aldon, Geraldine Dela Rosa, Esmer Quiambao, Rolando Medina, Danilo Villas, and Jimmy Bacamante.

JpegThe city’s first fashion week will kick-off tonight with the Kasuotang Pilipino 2015 at 6 p.m. also in Glorietta 2 Activity Center.

Some 12 Makati-based designers will be featuring their signature styles in the kick-off event. They consist of fashion designers Luis Delos Santos, Bryan Peralta, Albert Andrada, Albert Figueras, Raymund Saul, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Jinggo Inoncillo, Kaye Morales, Joel Bautista, Janet Castro, Noel Crisostomo, and Val Taguba.
