12 new shades make lips of all tones gorgeous

Much as I love lipstick, getting invited to a new lipstick launch hardly excites me these days because, most of the time, I go home disappointed and not quite impressed by the product.

I seem to have found the perfect reds, pinks, purples and nudes for my lips.

But then things changed the moment I stepped into the room that was set up to introduce the new shades and lipstick of Laura Mercier.

The shades were decadent, vibrant and simply perfect, which is the meaning of “parfait.” I love how this balmy formula’s thin layer actually provided the right shade as seen on its stick.

I know that’s how it’s supposed to be, but not all products deliver.

This one has the coverage of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. And, best of all, all 12 shades will look gorgeous on any skin tone. Seriously.

In my goodie bag I got Amaretto Swirl, but today I’m passing by Rustan’s to grab Sweet Guava and Blood Cherry.

Charriol’s new bracelets

There are three accessories I actually don’t remove anymore and they are all bracelets.

Charriol creative director Coralie Charriol Paul understands women. So, when she designed a new bracelet collection, she made it wearable, fun, and stackable pieces that one can call her own.

This is the type of collection you would want to gift yourself —to mark a milestone or simply because you think you deserve it.

I love the idea of buying a couple so you can mix and match and create your own style.

Twists and cables, torques and cuffs, color or monochrome, wrapped with wires or plainly elegant, adorned with stones or embellished with hearts and clasps, slim or broad, there are six variants to choose from in a spectrum of tones, including silver, bronze, black and gold.

Fashion weekend

What will you be doing this coming weekend?

It will be a fun and packed one for me and the family.

First I will head to Capsule of CuraV at the Kirov showroom in Rockwell at 11 a.m.

This year (Oct. 3-4), Cura V takes a notable leap through “Capsule,” an intimate fashion party unveiling immaculate pieces of breakthrough designers in Philippine fashion.

An all-apparel event, “Capsule” will present a sweeping fashion selection—sleek and streamlined by Gian Romano and Joey Samson; modern and feminine by Vania Romoff and Mark Bumgarner; cool and delicate hand-embroidered pieces by Amarie and Filip+Inna.

Tryst Studio, which offers men’s Incotex pants, is also featured; it’s known for bringing itself to cult status among men committed to finding the perfect pair of pants.

“Capsule” is a not-to-miss fashion affair meant to prepare the stylish for the holidays through a cohesive wardrobe of easy transition pieces that transform from day to night, from casual to fashion forward.

Then I will proceed to Vantage Feast (Oct. 3) at the Vantage, 50 West Capitol Drive and United St. in Kapitolyo, Pasig. Our family enjoys going to these events not only for the yummy food, but also for the fun activities for the kids.

It runs from 4 to 9 p.m. so we’ll stay for dinner.

Enjoy your weekend!
