“Pierre Hermé has the nose of a perfumer, a great palate and exceptional memory,” says L’Occitane founder Olivier Baussan to describe his friend and collaborator.
For L’Occitane’s holiday collection, Hermé brings his palate and talent for contrast pairings to create three fragrance combinations for the Provençal brand.
Jasmin Immortelle Neroli combines L’Occitane’s most precious flower, immortelle—prized for its anti-aging properties—with the richness of jasmine, and tempers it with the sweetness of neroli oil derived from bitter orange trees.
Beautiful island
Pamplemousse Rhubarb, or grapefruit rhubarb, blends together clove, nutmeg, rhubarb and grapefruit which reminds both men of Corsica, a beautiful island they visit during the summer.
Miel Mandarine (honey mandarin) gives oranges a sweet twist with the introduction of honey. A dash of Immortelle adds a sensual floral hint.
As a nod to Hermé’s pastry background, Baussan designed packaging reminiscent of cake boxes. The perfume bottles (75 ml) are round with a gold cap, like a sweet macaron or delicate cake.
Each fragrance combination comes with complementary body care products like shower gel, body lotion, shimmering body powder, perfumed soap, hand cream and lip gloss. With the exception of Jasmin Immortelle Neroli, both Pamplemousse Rhubarb and Miel Mandarine are unisex.
