Megaworld has a new “businessman’s hotel” that promises a relaxing time for travelers, and it’s located just across the airport.

Belmont Hotel is a new facility at Resorts World Manila (RWM), a commercial complex in Pasay City developed by Megaworld Corp.

“Belmont means beautiful mountain,” said general manager Lorenzo Tang. The hotel interiors have charming touches inspired by nature which complement its warm and clean design.

Upon entering the lobby, for instance, guests would see a chandelier of glass lilies in shades of green, amber and yellow.

Furniture pieces are made of wood; there are koi and leaf-print details on the walls. Abundant natural light ushers in good vibes, from the lobby to the bedroom.

“We have a natural color scheme, with no strong contrasts,” said Tang. “This makes the hotel visually pleasing for the guests the moment they step in.”

Roof-deck lounge

Understanding that its main clientele is the corporate crowd who is in Manila for business, Belmont Hotel has the essentials: an all-day restaurant, Café Belmont; a gym with steam bath and sauna; a business center; and complimentary Wi-Fi.

One may also chill by the swimming pool, and lounge with a drink at Roofdeck 11, a bar overlooking the city skyline.

Belmont Hotel was formally opened on Oct. 8, said to be an auspicious date. A traditional lion dance and eye-dotting ceremony kicked off the launch, led by Megaworld first vice president Kevin Tan.

Also gracing the event were RWM president Kingson Sian and Bases Conversion and Development Authority president Arnel Casanova.

Lavender scent

Afterward, Tang gave a quick tour of the 10-story hotel. The 34-year-old soft-spoken GM has lived in Italy and Hong Kong, and knows how important good sleep is to travelers.

He showed one of the Tranquility Rooms on the 10th floor, which features a special lavender scent that comes from an oil burner.

It is one of the 480 rooms in Belmont Hotel with a standard room size of 28 by 90 square meters; all rooms on the 10th floor are Tranquility Rooms.

Going around the hotel, Tang explained that “Belmont is simple and low-key, but guests can expect personalized and friendly service.”

In the future, Belmont Hotel will have branches in Megaworld properties in Boracay and Cebu.

In Manila, it is the fourth hotel in the RWM complex (the others are Marriott Hotel Manila, Maxims Hotel and Remington Hotel).

Pricing, said Tang, is what makes Belmont stand out among the other hotels. “The price range is reasonable. We are expecting highly mobile guests and transient travelers, and we aim to give the best value for money.”

There’s also the food at Café Belmont to look forward to.

As executive chef Dean Manalo explained: “We are serving local and international cuisines, with flavors both comforting and memorable for the weary traveler.”
