Jewelmer Joaillerie recently celebrated over three decades of history with a grand elegant dinner at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Peninsula Manila.
Inspired by the timeless Filipino proverb, “Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan (He who does not look back at his roots will never reach his destiny),” the event, dubbed “A Journey to the Extraordinary,” was dedicated to the men and women who have made Jewelmer Joaillerie the internationally renowned brand it is today.
It was a return to their roots, so to speak, bringing together the best of French and Filipino cultures that are at the heart of Jewelmer.
Ferried by Rolls Royce
High-profile guests were ferried to the event in a customized Rolls Royce Wraith and treated to an excellent meal specially prepared by The Peninsula Manila, accompanied by the finest French champagne by Veuve Cliquot at the Rigodon Ballroom, which was transformed to an evening in Paris as an homage to the brand’s French identity.
The program, hosted by Issa Litton, featured the world premiere of Jewelmer’s new corporate video that narrates the story of the brand’s journey which started in 1979.
This was followed by the launch of its fabulous 2016 spring-summer collection in a French-inspired presentation featuring 11-year-old
ballerina Tessa Hernandez who opened the show.
Jewelmer’s latest pieces were worn by top Filipino models garbed in special outfits inspired by the Parisian aesthetic.
After the show, guests danced like there was no tomorrow, stomping on the floor to the big band music performed by the AMP Band.
Hobnobbing with the approximately 400 guests were the très charmant Jewelmer group president and CEO Jacques Branallec, and his son, Jewelmer executive VP and deputy CEO Jacques Christophe Branallec, and Jewelmer group chair Manuel Cojuangco.
At the cocktails served at Peninsula Manila’s upper lobby, I noticed people entering Jewelmer’s boutique on the same floor; they either bought or reserved the latest of Jewelmer’s pride, the Gold Pearl.
“Jewelmer is an international luxury brand that was born out of a commitment to cultivate the world’s most lustrous South Sea pearls and exquisite fine jewelry that showcases the creative harmony of French design and Asian sensibilities,” Cojuangco said in a video. “Established in 1979 by a French pearl farmer and a Filipino entrepreneur, Jewelmer has grown globally to represent a world of rarity and enduring elegance.”
A thanksgiving for the past and an homage to a continuing tradition of excellence and beauty, this year’s Jewelmer event is yet another memorable milestone in its continuing journey to the extraordinary.
Lustrous pearls have the look of extravagance since time memorial, worn by royals from around the world, palangga.
