HOTELS in Makati and Manila are all set for the arrival of delegates to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) meetings next week.
New World Manila Bay is hosting Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang. To ensure that he and his Apec contingent will enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine, the hotel has flown in guest chefs from its sister property in Saigon.
“We are going the extra mile,” said Romina Gervacio, New World Manila Bay’s director of communications.
“In time for Apec, we are offering special rates for in-house guests and Apec delegates staying in the hotel when they dine at Fireplace, which is known for its grilled items. Our certified Angus beef ribeye steak is P1,300; baby back ribs at P1,000; and signature Fireplace burger at P1,300.
Before the start of the Apec CEO summit tomorrow, Nov. 16, “delegates and staff are welcome for lunch at Circles, Inagiku, or at Sage” at the Makati Shangri-La(www.apec2015ceosummit.com).
The staff at Diamond Hotel in Manila decorated their towering Christmas tree as a tribute to Apec 2015. It held its tree-lighting ceremony a few days ago that was attended by officials from the different embassies, Carmela Ang of Diamond Hotel Philippines, and Vanessa Suatengco, general manager of Diamond Hotel Philippines.
According to material from the hotel, “the 25-ft-high Christmas tree is decorated with festive ornaments and dolls dressed in the national costumes of the Apec participating and visiting delegates.
This year’s theme is similar to “It’s A Small World,” to celebrate peace and unity among nations.”
