Fighting fatigue by fighting stress | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

It’s been called the stress syndrome of the 21st century. And it goes by one name: adrenal fatigue. Why do health experts believe that this is the most agonizing and challenging century in history? Despite the improved quality of life and opportunities for personal advancement, most people have become victims of stress. The result? Adrenals that have been exhausted. They are two walnut-size glands that sit on top of your kidneys.

The adrenals contribute to the production of 150 vital hormones, which influence every major physiological process in the body. Without well-functioning adrenals, the production of two major hormones—cortisol and adrenaline—will be impaired.

Both of these hormones help your body cope with stress. And cortisol fosters a perfectly functioning immune system. In every medicine, the unseen meridian that regulates your life force is called the triple warmer, which governs the adrenals. Thus, if you wish to raise your energy levels, focus on your triple warmer.

But because of mismanaged stress, the triple warmer can go on overdrive. This tends to contribute to health problems. But there is a good news: we can retrain the triple warmer. Example: when a stressful situation sends you into a fight-or-flight response, about 80 percent of the blood leaves the forebrain to flow into your arms and chest to put up a fight or into your legs to run away.

These are ancient chemical reactions to prepare you for battle. This also explains why after going through a stressful time, you feel drained, your legs are numb, and a general sense of weakness comes over you. Before you can get into future situations, you must be:

1. Aware

2. Alert.

3. Take charge.

The “Stress Dissolver” allows you to interrupt the process.

1. Place the pads of your fingers on your forehead and your thumbs on your temples.

2. Hold firmly without putting pressure.

3. Breathe deeply.

Alternative pose: place the palm of one hand on your forehead and the other on the back of your head. This activates the neurovasculars which impact dramatically circulation and returns the blood to the head. By doing this motion, you are gently being moved out of the stress response. Thus, your fight-orflight feeling will dissolve.

An antianxiety tonic

Calm yourself by sipping the aromatic goodness of chamomile, peppermint, and lavender. If you’re hot-headed, try this:

1 cucumber (peeled) and juiced

½ cup fresh yoghurt or non-fat milk

1 tsp raw wild honey

½ tsp cinnamon

This should cool you down.

Whatever is left over, you can make into a mask (just add the fibers of the cucumber after it has been juiced. Leave on for three minutes.

Affirm today: “Calm waters flow through me.”

Love and Light!
