Fear of crossing bridges traced to past life

A middle-aged female lawyer working in a government agency came to see me recently. She was accompanied by a friend, also a lawyer from the same agency.

She said she was interested in undergoing past-life hypnotic regression because of a fear of heights, which she couldn’t understand.

She also wanted to know why she was so afraid of driving a car.

As I began questioning her for details, however, it became clear it was not really a fear of heights (acrophobia) that was bothering her, but fear of crossing an open bridge, any bridge. I found that rather strange—the first time I had heard of such a phobia.

She was also very fascinated with big American colonial houses, and kept pictures of them in her cell phone. She thought it must be because she now lived in a big colonial type of house.

Before doing regression on her, I recalled the case of a woman who attended my seminar years ago. She also had a fear of being in a high place.  During regression, she discovered that her fear of heights originated from a past-life memory in 17th-century Switzerland, where she lived in a forest or jungle. She would move from place to place holding on to a vine, like Jane and Tarzan.

Past-life memory

One day, the vine broke and she saw herself fall into a deep ravine. That’s how she died in that past life.

When she found that her fear of heights was due to a past-life memory, her fear of heights disappeared. I didn’t tell my present client this story because I didn’t want to influence her mind.

Now back to the lawyer. Her friend told me a story that happened to them recently. They were together walking in Metro Manila when they had to cross the street on an elevated walkway. She refused to go up and risked being hit by a car crossing the street on the ground.

When they were in Kuala Lumpur, she also could not cross the bridge connecting the  Petronas Towers.

When I regressed her, she vividly saw at least two lifetimes, which explained her present phobias.

In the first lifetime, she saw her husband, a soldier, get killed while crossing a bridge. It was blown up by the enemies and went into flames, killing everybody, including her husband.

She tried to rush toward him but was deterred by the burning bridge. She cried, and tears fell from her cheeks while reliving the tragic scene.

Body convulsing

I then moved her to another important event chosen by her subconscious mind to get answers to her questions about her present life.

She then saw herself as a very wealthy American man driving a luxury car. Suddenly an electric post fell on her car, electrocuting her.

Her body started convulsing when she was recalling being electrocuted in her car. That’s how she died in that lifetime. She also saw herself living in a colonial mansion in the past.

I told her that now that she knows the reason for her fear of bridges and of driving, she will no longer be bound by them.  Her fears will disappear because their cause or causes have been  uncovered.

This is usually how phobias are released from the subconscious mind. By remembering them, people are no longer controlled by them. I told her to try crossing bridges and learning to drive a car after this session.
