THE CROWD attending the annual “Paskuhan” festivities at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) were treated to a visual spectacle at the Main Building, which was transformed into several delightful scenes, including the Nativity and other Yuletide images, through a three-dimensional projection.
Despite stormy weather, Thomasians and their companions braved their way to the UST campus to witness the projection mapping—a first for “Paskuhan,” following other mapping shows in London and the Vatican.
“We forgot about the weather and were just fascinated with the show,” said student Pam Bolanos. “It was truly a visual feast for everyone.”
The annual Christmas celebration had the theme, “A Thomasian Celebration of Christmas and the Jubilees of Mercy and the 800th Dominican Foundation Year.”
Students also reveled in an afternoon pre-concert featuring the bands MilesExperience, Autotelic, Jensen and the Flips, and Where’s Ramona.
In the evening, the practice gym of the university also featured the bands Callalily, Moonstar 88, 6 Cycle Mind, and Grace Note.
Capping the event was the much-awaited pyromusical display, accompanied by the songs “Viva La Vida” and “A Sky Full of Stars” of British rock band Coldplay.
