A night of music for Lita

OCT. 14 was a significant and memorable date for Lita Alejar-Faustino, who celebrated her 85th birthday at the McKinley Hill Clubhouse. She was elegantly dressed in a black lace blouse and beaded fuchsia pants, with a fuchsia flower in her hair.

The celebration before dinner started with an opening prayer led by Lita’s eldest daughter Emy.

Her eight children, along with her 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, honored her with a dinner musicale.

Guests were Lita’s close friends, including her high school co-graduates at St. Paul’s College and the University of Santo Tomas College of Pharmacy.

Also present was singer Gary Valenciano who, along with Tricia Jimenez, sang for the birthday girl. Lita and her co-Rhapsody Ladies Norma Francis and Emy Faustino sang “All the Things You Are,” with Sonya Valencia as accompanist.

Another friend, Edu Manzano, was also present. One of the highlights of Lita’s celebration was her family’s rendition of one of her favorite songs, “Two for the Road.”

After the dinner musicale, the dance floor was opened. It was truly a great night for Lita, who remains grateful for all her blessings.
