Almost two weeks after being wrongly crowned as the 2015 Miss Universe, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez said she now has a more positive outlook.

In a report by CNN, Gutierrez said job offers to work in the United States started pouring in after the much talked about pageant night, which crowned Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as the new Miss Universe after she was initially named as first runner up.

“I managed to make to make history, which I think is more important than winning the Miss Universe title,” Gutierrez reportedly told a local radio station in Colombia.

But Miss Colombia said what she went through was not easy especially because winning Miss Universe was a longtime dream, adding that she needed time to grieve for what had happened.

“I was disconnected. I haven’t received phone calls from almost anyone. Very few people have communicated with me,” Gutierrez said.

“It has been very hard for me, truly, it has been a great shock… Because it is a dream I fought for. … I have always dreamed of this, of being Miss Universe. … It was very humiliating for me,” she added.

Calling the incident as a “great injustice,” Gutierrez said she thought host Steve Harvey was only joking when he said he committed a mistake, as he “did things like that” during the rehearsals.

Gutierrez also blasted the Miss Universe Organization for its handling of the situation, saying that being decrowned in front of the cameras was not a fair way of handling the situation.

“There are a thousand ways to do things… They could have done it, I don’t know, the next day in a press conference or a press release. … They did not do things the right way,” she said. IDL
