It’s obvious how many people loved Inquirer’s late editor in chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc. Apparently, however, there was no love lost between the icon of journalism and one embattled Philippine senator.
Last Jan. 18, Magsanoc was honored by the Senate with three resolutions recognizing her service to the country and to Philippine journalism, authored by senators Franklin Drilon, Aquilino Pimentel III and Loren Legarda.
While the citation was being read in the presence of Magsanoc’s family, however, one senator conspicuously stood up and walked out of the session hall.
Maybe he didn’t like the wordings? Or maybe, he just needed to take a bathroom break?
Whatever the reason, sir, it was not a very classy thing to do—you know, like lugging a designer bag to jail.
