Can a spirit undress a sleeping woman? | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Here’s an intriguing question from a bewildered husband in the United States.

“Dear Mr. Licauco,

“We are presently living in a house my daughter bought three years ago in California, United States.

“This morning, Jan. 7,  when we woke up, my wife found out she was almost totally naked. Before we slept last night, my wife wore her sleeping dress—a long gown with long sleeves… At about 5:30 a.m. she only had her underwear on. Her sleeping dress was placed on top of a small table beside our bed.

“My wife asked if I had removed her gown, but I said no. Our questions are, who could have removed her sleeping gown without her feeling anything? Was it a ghost? Do you think there’s a ghost where we are staying? May we know your opinion, please?

“By the way, this is the second time it happened to her. The first was in our house in Anaheim, California some time in 2006. That time, it was her sweater that was removed. We were together in the same bed and were surprised to find out that the sweater that she wore that night was gone in the morning.

Phenomenon

“Please explain this phenomenon because it is really bothering us. We want to know what really happened in those two incidents.

“Thanks a lot, Mr. Licauco. I actually read all your stories in the Inquirer, especially on the subject of the paranormal. I am really impressed by your wide knowledge on these matters.” Name withheld upon request

What happened to your wife is not really unique. Similar cases of people being undressed by an invisible spirit while asleep have also been reported to me by others.

One was related to me by a former general manager of the Manila International Airport. He was then studying at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City. Before he left home, his mother asked him to bring a pajama for use in the sleeping quarters. But plebes or freshmen are not allowed to wear them, only seniors. So he gave it to his senior cadet.

One night the senior wore the pajama. The next day, the senior was completely naked when he woke up, and he found the pajama neatly folded at the foot of his bed. He was all alone in the room and the door was locked all the time.

He found out the pajama belonged to his friend’s stepfather who had died. The senior wore it on the death anniversary of the stepfather. Maybe the deceased stepfather got it back because he didn’t want a stranger to wear it.

The other case happened to a well-known bold movie actress during the martial law years in the Philippines. Her name was Anna Marie. She would wake up in the morning with her blouse unbuttoned, and she would have bruises all over her body.

But she felt nothing during the entire night. This happened to her several times. That’s why she called me.

From my investigation, the strange incidents happened after she bought a hundred-year-old antique dresser a year before. The former owner probably didn’t want her to own it. When I told the actress to remove the dresser from her house, the manifestations stopped, to her great relief.

Three types

You see, there are three types of spirits: one may be attached to a place and will never leave it; another may be attached to an object and would not want anybody else to use it; and the third may be attached to a person. The spirit will follow that person wherever he or she goes.

I suspect that the spirit undressing your wife may be attracted to her, and would follow her wherever she goes.

One thing you can try is for your wife to talk to the spirit to leave her alone. This must be an earthbound spirit who might have known her before.

Did your wife have a former boyfriend, or admirer, or lover who had died? Think about it.

The fact that it happened only twice, and the spirit did not completely undress or molest her, means it is not really a bad spirit. It could be just a playful elemental.

The other thing you can do, if talking to it doesn’t work, is for you to consult a good psychic or clairvoyant. There are plenty in California. But be sure that they are of good reputation.

If I may suggest, please read my book “Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Ghosts But Were Afraid to Ask.” I don’t know if it’s available on amazon.com. It was published by Anvil Publishing Inc. in the Philippines. Let me know what happens.
