Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will experience another first in her career after she was chosen to be a special correspondent of “Inside Edition” for one of the biggest sporting events in the US this year — the Super Bowl 50.
In a post on the Miss Universe Twitter account, Wurtzbach said that she was excited about her new role.
“I am so excited to announce that I’ll be @InsideEdition‘s special correspondent at this year’s Super Bowl!” Wurtzbach said.
Wurtzbach will cover the game night along with another Inside Edition correspondent Megan Alexander. She is expected to host exclusive interviews and provide behind-the-scenes coverage during the game.
Inside Edition’s executive producer Charles Lachman praised Wurtzbach for being a natural in front of the camera.
“Pia is a natural fit as INSIDE EDITION’s Super Bowl Correspondent. She has the on-air poise that we look for in our talent, and as reigning Miss Universe, she’s no stranger to a thrilling competition,” Lachman said.
Super Bowl 50 will see the faceoff between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos at Santa Clara, California, on February 7. It will also feature a halftime show headlined by Coldplay and will have performances by Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
Wurtzbach, who made headlines around the world due to the controversial mix-up in the Miss Universe pageant, is currently in the Philippines for her homecoming tour. AJH/CB
