In a perfect world, we would go shopping with someone like Georgina Wilson. Given her polished sense of style, we wouldn’t mind picking up some tips from her or, heck, just copping whatever she fancies these days.
Catching up with her at the Maybelline Make It Happen launch, however, Georgina tells us that she often shops online. “I find it relaxing and it’s something you can easily do after the end of a long day,” she tells us. So on a free day with some serious pocket money,Georgina let us in on what her shopping habits are like.
If you had all the money in the world, which city would you prefer to shop in?
Paris and London. I can’t choose. I would start with London and take a train down to Paris. I love the European designers, I love couture. I’d buy Valentino, Balmain, and Miu Miu.
What are three fashion items you’re always on the hunt for?
I am always looking for white sneakers. I always am in need of [anything in] leather from jackets, skirts to pants and bags. And I love small bags like the Fendi Monster clutches. Nowadays, I like more practical stuff and pieces that I will wear a lot.
What do you wear when you go shopping?
A button down dress so you can easily take it off and rubber shoes. Your bag should just be a small one with your phone and wallet in it.
Who are your favorite shopping buddies?
I shop a lot with my sister Jess and my cousin Martine Cajucom. We all have the same taste when it comes to quality but we’re different when it comes to aesthetics.
What is one item you always splurge on?
I splurge on a lot of things when it comes to shopping. (Laughs). I love clothes and fashion so much. But one item I always drop cash for is a good leather jacket. I have a collection of leather jackets
What do you ask yourself before buying something?
Do you hate your bank account? It’s often a yes. (Laughs)
I do cost per wear analysis. [I ask myself] if it’ll make a difference in my wardrobe. Usually, it’s not because I buy the same thing over and over again; I am talking about if I will wear it often.
