Stepping out of the hotel to explore Tagaytay is best at night, especially since Sky Ranch stays open till late.

The amusement park has a number of rides for the kids to enjoy, including the humongous Ferris wheel that looks as big as the one in Mall of Asia.

But it gets difficult to find a place to have lunch on weekends, when almost every restaurant gets full, including Balay Dako, which seems to be the most sought-after dining place here.

Fortunately there’s Rowena’s—a gift shop and restaurant that is said to have overtaken Colette’s as the most popular place to buy buko pie. Rowena’s draws people for its tarts—which come in buko, mango, apple, ube and pineapple varieties.

Its restaurant also has a wide variety of dishes, including what everybody wants to eat when in Tagaytay—bulalo.
