Reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has graced the New York Fashion Week as she hit the runway show of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Collection 2016.

Wurtzbach wore a vibrant red gown made by Carmen Valvo in the exclusive event that aimed to raise global awareness on heart disease-related deaths among women.

“The event reminds women that heart diseases and stroke cause one in three women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. In fact, an estimated 44 million women in the US are affected by cardiovascular diseases,” the organization said in its website.

Wurtzbach also took to Instagram to share a photo of her with Miss USA Olivia Jordan during the event.

“Backstage at @goredforwomen with @missusa during @NYFW. So honored to have walked the #RedDressCollection show,” said the 26-year-old Filipino titleholder, who is in the United States to fulfill her duties as Miss Universe. YG/RC
