Repent, Manny, give up your senatorial bid

MANTRA for the week: “My positivity always gives birth to its own kind.”

Although God is often called “Father,” people also address the One Power as “Father-Mother-God.”

The mother and female aspect of God is what is known in the Bible as the Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. However, the physical virginity of Mary is not really the main point of the immaculate conception. It is simply trying to explain the female aspect of God.

The female aspect of God within you is pregnant with the whole (Holy) Spirit of God. In modern times, the female aspect of the brain is called the subconscious mind while the male aspect is the conscious mind. In Eastern teachings, this concept consists of the Yin for the female and Yang for the male.

In all respects, the male plants the seed and the female delivers the goods. But the female cannot give birth without the male planting the seed first. They work hand in hand to form a whole. In the “I am,” the “I” is the male and the “am” is the female.

What is God’s gender, then? In the final analysis, we believe that God is both male and female, thus it has no gender. He/She is not just our Father, but our Father-Mother.

In the same way, the Living Spirit Almighty has no color because it is all colors, no race because it is all races, and no creed because it is all creeds. It is Life. It is Principle. It is all there is.

‘Spotlight,’ ‘Opera’

There were two shows that opened and closed last week, but they should be shown again and again.

“Spotlight” is a film based on a true story about the sexual abuse of minors by some members of the Catholic clergy. It will be available on DVD, but there is nothing like watching it on the big screen, especially the scenes depicting what happened to the victims when they reached adulthood.

In the case of Ballet Philippines’ “Opera,” it cannot be replicated on the screen or enjoyed in any other way except live onstage—the immediate experience of being there in mind, body and spirit.

French choreographer Redha Benteifour went as far as personally handpicking individual dancers from Ballet Philippines to perform in the musical-dance-drama.

“Opera” is a perfect blend of classical ballet and National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes’ jazzy modern dance. The ballet is titled “Opera” because it is a musical drama in three acts interpreted in dance.

For those who want to appreciate a musical-dance-drama, read the “Opera” libretto by Yvette Tan and Erwin Romulo and understand the word homunculus, Latin for “little man.” This little man, according to spermists, exists in every sperm and, when placed inside a woman, grows into a child.

Homunculus is used in psychology today “as a memory tool to describe the distorted scale model of a human sculpted to reflect the relative space of human body parts.”

Furthermore, homunculus indicates certain body parts like “large lips, hands, feet and genitals,” moving Redha to create dances that are not only sensual but also sexual and erotic. Special mention must be made for the very modern and exciting music of Malek Lopez and the outstanding lighting design of John Batalla.

Congratulations to everyone involved in Ballet Philippines’ “Opera” on its last performance of its 46th season.

In the I Ching, 46 is the hexagram entitled, “pushing upward” and that is exactly what Ballet Philippines has succeeded in doing. Kudos as well to Margie Moran-Floirendo, its president who has spearheaded this organization since 2009.

Talk of the world

When CNN, The New York Times, ESPN and other media outfits pick up a story, it truly becomes global—like what has happened to Manny Pacquiao’s latest infamous interview.

Manny, a former world boxing champion and now an outspoken pastor, has drawn worldwide flak due to his insulting remarks about same-sex relations. Although I respect what he believes in, he should not go around putting down other people’s points of view.

The line in the bible he was referring to is in 1 Corinthians 6:9: “Do you not know that the wicked shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not misled: neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the corrupt, nor men who lie down with males.”

What happened to the females sleeping with other females? Are lesbians exempted?

People should know that the reason for the line saying that men should not sleep with other men was referring basically to male prostitution. Women at that time were required to keep their virginity either due to the practice of dowry or for their pristine purity. Thus, the brothels that men patronized had young boys for sexual services.

Notice in this biblical passage that the top wrongdoing was immorality. The second is idolaters. (How many saints and images do Filipino Catholics worship?) The third are adulterers. (I wonder how many non-adulterers are left in the country.) And then, the corrupt… look around you, it is everywhere.

So, why does Manny single out men who lie down with men, ignoring the first four more negative practices, even overlooking the fact that there is no mention of women lying down with women?

Based on the gospel of Manny, only he, his pastors, straight men and women, and lesbians who are not immoral, idolaters, adulterers and corrupt will inherit the kingdom of God.

Thank God, in IAMISM, I believe that everyone goes back to his Maker because there is no kingdom of the devil to inherit, knowing that Infinite Intelligence that is God would never create a devil that would fight Itself.

Common sense

Let me inform Manny and his dumb advisers that there are many well-known animals that practice homosexuality. Among them are dolphins, which are considered at the top intelligent quotient of the animal kingdom; penguins —two male penguins even made headlines after they paired up in a zoo and succeeded in raising to adulthood a penguin egg; bonobos monkeys; African lions; and giraffes.

To Manny, I suggest that before you speak self-righteously, please pause and think, and tell your pastors to do the same, because you are beginning to sound like the most unchristian of Christians in the world. No wonder, even Nike has reacted and dropped you as an endorser.

You have apologized, but some form of retribution is still called for, before there would be closure to this issue.

Consider this: Give up your senatorial bid as a gesture of your repentance and just focus your attention on sports where you have exceedingly excelled.
